CLC bio provides ‘one-stop shop’ for bioinformatics tools across Monsanto
At the 2012 Sequencing, Finishing and Analysis in the Future meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Monsanto presented their transgenic plant pipeline, sequencing thousands of plasmids per year and finishing these sequencing data using software from CLC bio.To ensure that only high quality plasmids get transformed into plants, a number of requirements had to be met for the finishing software used by the Monsanto researchers. Other than the finishing tools, Monsanto’s also decided to make CLC bio the ‘one-stop shop’ for bioinformatics tools across their entire organization.Flexibility, user-friendliness, ability to customize, as well as execute algorithms in a high-throughput fashion were on the list of requirements. Our solutions meet all of the listed criteria and adds even more advantages to finishing as well as other bioinformatics analysis. One of the advantages highly valued by Monsanto is our support for automated workflows where CLC Genomics Server and the command-line tools allow you to pipeline your analysis in a high-throughput fashion.Watch the video presentation by Ajay Athavale, Monsanto, from the 2012 Sequencing, Finishing and Analysis in the Future meeting at SFAF’s website.
