The download and activation process
The download and license registration process is simple:
- Download the program
- Stay connected to the internet and install the program
- Stay connected to the internet and start up the program
- Go through the license activation procedure which appears on your screen
- You can now use the program, even when you are not connected to the internet

Installation instructions
Mac OS X 10.3 or later
If your browser doesn't automatically mount the downloaded disk-image, do this by double-clicking the file. Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000
After the installer has been downloaded, double-click on the CLC Main Workbench icon and follow the instructions on the screen.
Linux (RedHat/SuSE) installer
The installer is an executable file containing the application.
After the file has been downloaded execute it by running a command similar to:
# sh CLCMainWorkbench_3_0.sh
A system-wide installation will require root-privileges, but it is possible to install a copy in your home directory.
Linux (RedHat/SuSE) RPM
Download the rpm-package and install it using the rpm-tool by running a command similar to:# rpm -ivh CLCMainWorkbench_3_0.rpm
Installation of RPM-packages usually requires root-privileges.
CLC's trial concept
CLC bio offers a fully functional trial version of all our commercial software to all users, free of charge.
Our trial concept is this:
- Each user is entitled to a total of two weeks of demo of CLC Genomics Workbench, or four weeks of demo of CLC Protein Workbench, CLC DNA workbench, CLC RNA workbench, or CLC Main Workbench.
- You are most welcome to mail any questions that you may have about the start-up process or the functionality of any CLC Workbench to support@clcbio.com. We will answer your questions as quickly as possible.
