CLC Free Workbench is a free software workbench for basic bioinformatics, enabling users to make a large number of bioinformatics analyses, combined with smooth data management, and excellent graphical viewing and output options. The download and activation process

The download and license registration process is simple:

  1. Download the program
  2. Stay connected to the internet and install the program
  3. Stay connected to the internet and start up the program
  4. Go through the license activation procedure which appears on your screen
  5. You can now use the program, even when you are not connected to the internet

Installation instructions

Mac OS X 10.3 or later

If your browser doesn't automatically mount the downloaded disk-image, do this by double-clicking the file. Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.

Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000

After the installer has been downloaded, double-click on the CLC Free Workbench icon and follow the instructions on the screen.

Linux (RedHat/SuSE) installer

The installer is an executable file containing the application.
After the file has been downloaded execute it by running a command similar to:

  # sh CLCFreeWorkbench_4_0.sh

A system-wide installation will require root-privileges, but it is possible to install a copy in your home directory.

Linux (RedHat/SuSE) RPM

Download the rpm-package and install it using the rpm-tool by running a command similar to:
  # rpm -ivh CLCFreeWorkbench_4_0.rpm

Installation of RPM-packages usually requires root-privileges.
