UniProt (Swiss-Prot / TrEMBL) Search
Conducting a search in UniProt from CLC Protein Workbench corresponds to conducting the search on UniProt’s website. The search results can however be saved instantly for later research, and they can be shown graphically including annotations etc. Click here to read more about sequence viewing
The user is free to choose to search on either the Swiss-Prot database, the TrEMBL database, or on both databases at the same time. When database(s) has been chosen, one or more of the following search parameters are available:
- Organism
- Description
- Created since (between 30 days and 10 years)
- Feature
- “All fields”
All searches are carried out as background processes, ensuring that other work can be done while searching.
In order to ensure speed of work, searches are carried out in a two-step process:
- All search results are initially shown as a list of hits satisfying the chosen search criteria
- Relevant search hits can be selected and downloaded to the program using an intuitive drag-and-drop function
