All bioinformatics software from CLC bio runs on
Apple’s new Intel-based computers
Aarhus, Denmark - March 9, 2006 -- As the first bioinformatics company in the world, CLC bio today announced that all programs are Universal applications, and thereby supporting Apple’s new Intel-based computers as from March 16, 2006.
CLC bio’s freeware-program, CLC Free Workbench, is already available in a Universal version, which takes advantage of the speed of the new Intel-based Macs. The program contains a number of bioinformatics analyses, gathered in an integrated and user-friendly software package. It can be downloaded free of charge on www.clcbio.com.
As from March 16, the following programs will be Universal applications, hereby enabling significant performance increases on Apple’s Intel-based computers:
• CLC Protein Workbench, which provides a long range of advanced protein sequence analysis tools such as 3D viewing, protein structure prediction and pattern discovery.
• CLC Gene Workbench, which includes advanced DNA sequence analyses, including primer design, contig assembly and vector cloning tools.
• CLC Combined Workbench, which includes all tools available in CLC Protein Workbench and CLC Gene Workbench.
All three workbenches are available in fully functional demo versions, which can be downloaded from CLC bio’s website as from March 16.
