Press release October 17, 2006 |
CLC bio and Molegro are pleased to announce the formation of a business partnership, spanning from immediate collaboration on sales, marketing and distribution to future collaboration on data integration and certain areas of product development.
Under this partnership, CLC bio, a leader in desktop based DNA and protein sequence analysis software, will sell and market Molegro’s innovative new molecular docking software, Molegro Virtual Docker 2006. This software utilizes differential evolution to predict protein-ligand interactions. Molegro Virtual Docker handles all aspects of the docking process from preparation of the molecules to determination of the potential binding sites of the target protein, and prediction of the binding modes of the ligands.
Both Molegro’s products and CLC bio’s products are intuitive and user-friendly desktop applications running on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms.
Thomas Knudsen, CEO of CLC bio states:
We are very pleased with the collaboration with Molegro. Molegro Virtual Docker fits perfectly into our present product line of DNA and protein sequence analysis software. Several of our customers have already shown interest in molecular docking software, and we are thus looking very much forward to offering this high quality product. Expanding our product range with Molegro’s drug discovery software strengthens our position as a full-service bioinformatics solutions provider, offering bioinformatics software, bioinformatics consulting, as well as bioinformatics hardware solutions.
